Pakida
Overview
Cine Shore Rating:
An average game.
The film tells the story of Aadhi (Asif Ali) and his gang of friends who lead a jovial life. They are used to freaking out and celebrating life. During one such celebration on Christmas day, an accident happens, and George (Biju Menon) walks into their lives. Aadhi and George are forced to make a journey together. What happens thereafter forms the crux of the film with a twist in the tale.
Asif Ali does a good job, and there is an ease in his performance. It is pleasant to see him selecting good roles nowadays and improving each time. Bijumenon is at his usual best, and he has a good screen space.Heroines and the supporting cast are adequate.
There’s nothing new in the storyline as we have seen many flicks in the same format. Screenplay too follows the same formula of present generation hangouts in most part of the first half. As there is no novelty in the plot, the screenplay looks forced and very average. Narration is slow which doesn’t fit to a genre like this. There is no pace in a second half too where things gets intense.
Cinematography is quiet decent, and there are some rich shots here and there. Songs are very average, and there is only one track which looks good. But background music sets the mood for the narration. Editing could have been better as the length of the movie is another drawback.
First half of the movie is average with things getting better towards the interval. Second half is what we have seen before in recent youth oriented flicks. The suspense factor which was to be the biggest strength is strictly average, thus one doesn’t get the thrill. Climax is conceived decently, and this part saves from a big fall. Overall its strictly an average fare and may be watchable for the performances of the lead casts only.
