Law Point

Overview

Cine Shore Rating:
2.5 Right intention, average execution.

PLOT

Satya (Kunchako Boban) is a successful advocate who can easily save any of his client irrespective of their crimes. During a case of him he encounters with a girl who has just attempted a suicide. It leads to some secrets in their past and some turns in the events.

PERFORMANCE

Kunchako Boban has got a throughout serious role and he does a good job. His character is quiet different from what he does usually. Namita Pramod is neat as Maya and she looks matured. Nedumudi Venu, Joy Thomas, Praveena, Devan etc fills other cast and they all are fine.

STORY – SCREENPLAY – DIRECTION

The plot of the movie is quiet promising and had a potential to become a good thriller, but the screenplay is plain and boring especially in the first half. It only gets interesting towards climax. Till then it’s a struggle to reach the final twist. Direction by Lijin Jose, who has previously done Friday, is pretty ordinary. Dialogues are partly good but at times becomes philosophical which looks artificial.

TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT

Neil ‘D’ Kunha’s Cinematography is good and he captures some nice visuals in the first half. Editing could have been better as the pace is too slow for a thriller. Mejo’s songs are okay and Bijibal’s background scores are alright.

ANALYSIS

Starting is interesting but afterward’s it is too much plain and non-happening. The flashback episodes are cliched and unconvincing. It all happens in last few minutes and here only it gets interesting. Overall its strictly an average fare which relies on the performances and the suspense factor.
