Why Did Amy Jackson Reject Suriya-Venkat Prabhu Combo?

Actress Amy Jackson had made headlines recently when it was reported that she had walked out of Suriya’s Masss. All sorts of rumors were floating around but Amy has clarified the events. She was initially roped in to play the female lead for Masss after the initial script was locked. However, the script apparently underwent a change and Amy felt that her role wasn’t as strong as it initially was in the first script forcing her to drop out of the project. Her reasoning is that she is aiming for strong characters after Ai. She however said that she would definitely work with Suriya and Venkat Prabhu soon.

Amy who rose to stardom with AL Vijay’s Madrassipattanam has thereafter had a lukewarm time in the film industry. However, all that is set to change with Shanker’s magnum opus Ai due for release this Pongal. The film that has Vikram and Amy in the lead has the actress in a meaty role which she feels could give direction to her career. Shanker films are always huge and so it isn’t surprising that Ai is having extraordinary buzz all over. The film shall be dubbed in several languages with the Telugu and Hindi versions being the main ones. Music by AR Rahman has already become chartbusters. Film is slated for a worldwide release on January 14, 2015.
