Pretham 21 Days Collection

It has been three weeks past release and Jayasuriya – Ranjith Shankar team’s Pretham is ruling the roost in the box office. The horror comedy which took surprisingly good has been stayed steady for its 3 weeks. The film, which grossed more than 7 Crore from 10 days had dropped, but only in the normal side. Since then it has maintained a steady performance. After becoming the highest solo grosser in Jayasuriya’s career, the film has now gone past 10 Crore and is currently standing at 11.40 Crore at the end of 21 days, that is 3 weeks. The net it around 9.18 Crore and the distributor share has gone past the superb 5 Crore mark. Being a film of medium size, this share is a superb feet and the return on investment looks like to go past 200% in coming weeks, just from the theatricals itself.

Now the film needs to keep the momentum during the pre – Onam season were films will perform weak unless that big blockbuster.Pretham being not in that category needs to remain consistent, so that it can retain a decent number of screens before despite of the Onam line up of releases. There is Oozham, which is also a Central Pictures release who has distributed Pretham and they might eye the opening of Oozham which should be very good being a Jeethu Joseph and Prithvi combo flick and their union of Memories team is indeed to bewatched out for. If the movie could retain that decent number of screens, Pretham could rake in some more money from Onam season if accommodated in medium and small theatres. Central Pictures, being experienced should do it strategically who will now have two promising films of the season. Anyhow, the film has been a bumper one from the director and the actor’s viewpoint as they only bankrolled it.
