Punyalan Agarbathis
Plot : Joy Thakkolkaaran (Jayasurya) is a common man who decides to make Agarbathis from elephant dung. He decides to name the company ‘Punyaalan Agarbathis’. The hassles that faces thereafter in managing the company is what the film is about.
Performances : Jayasurya was reliable in his performance as he gave it a fine touch with a good mix of humor and the slang. Aju Varghese was okay while Nyla Usha was neat. Sreejith Ravi surprised with his comic timing and entertained a lot. He showed that comedy comes easily to him just like negative roles do.
Technical Side : The film doesn’t have huge technical values but then the genre doesn’t demand it either. Ranjith Shanker’s direction is good as the film has a fine first half and a watchable 2nd half. The DOP and music department are decent. The script was good though the 2nd half could have been better. We do expect huge after the 1st half but the film takes a different route which is quite simple. The families are likely to lap it up though as it is a simple and feel good film. Apart from the flaws in 2nd half, the film is a good watch.
Analysis : The film is a good one to watch with your family as Jayasurya and Ranjith Shanker have managed to make a feel-good film that brings a smile to your face. With good promotions, the film should emerge a success at the Box Office.
