Vishu Goes In Favour Of Prithviraj

The much anticipated Vishu season has gone in favour of Prithviraj and his 7th Day. The film which released on Apr 12 got overwhelming response across the state and Prithviraj himself will be double happy as his August film is distributing the film. The movie has registered about 80% on an average in Single screens and plexes are way above that. After 6 days the movie has crossed 2 crore of share easily. Other Vishu releases Dileeps Ringmaster has failed to register an impressive opening and is just above average as of now. Still the family audience may take the movie to a safe zone in the long run as there is no other big option for vacation crowds. Kunchako Boban’s Polytechnic condition is somewhat lower than that of the Ringmaster and the word of mouth is also not an encouraging, thus making things difficult for it. But the biggest fall of the season will be Mammootty’s Gangster which has sunk without a trace once after the humongous opening. It is said that the Industry has incurred a loss of above 5 crore in Vishu season itself and one hopes that things get better in coming days with other summer releases like one by two, Banglore days, Mr. Fraud etc.
