‘Veeram isn’t a remake’ – Siva
Ajith’s ‘Veeram’ is set to hit the screens on January 10 worldwide as the actor’s Pongal release. The whole unit of Veeram sans Ajith held a press conference recently, and director Siva had an interesting revelation to make. He said that the whole idea of doing a rural mass entertainer was Ajith’s as the actor wanted a changeover from the slick urban flicks that he had been doing.
Siva promised that Ajith would be seen at his energetic best in the film with a dosage comedy sequences decked up along with explosive action scenes and powerful dialogues. There had been rumors going around that Veeram was the remake of the Malayalam film ‘Valyettan’ starring Mammotty that also tells the story of 5 brothers but the director denied it saying that the film was an original. The film has been censored with a clean ‘U’ certificate with a running time of approximately 160 minutes.
