Suriya’s new found strategy

Actor Suriya is a happy man post the huge success of Singam-2 but is in no hurry to repeat himself in such commercial potboilers unlike typical stars. He has actually gone the other way around in this aspect. Suriya has decided henceforth to work with young and fresh directors in films that shall have realistic budgets and innovative storylines.

Suriya had apparently held discussions with a series of young directors like Gautham Menon, AL Vijay, Lingusamy, Nalan Kamarasamy and several others in recent times. Of these, he was impressed with Lingusamy’s script and has given the nod for it. The shoot of the film has already started with the shooting spot stills going viral. Santosh Sivan is cranking the camera for this project in which Vidyut Jamwal plays a vital role. Yuvan Shanker Raja will be scoring the music.

An announcement on Suriya’s next shall be made soon and there are rumours floating around that it could be with Nalan Kamarasamy who directed the highly acclaimed Soodhu Kavvum. Suriya has also told Gautham Menon to work further on the script of ‘Dhruva Nakshathiram’.

Meanwhile, the actor’s home production 2D Entertainments are holding a talent hunt for script writing. Those whose scripts are impressive shall get a call from the Production House. Suriya has plans to produce youngsters’ films through 2D Entertainments.
