Story behind Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Biriyani’

After the smashing success of ‘Mankatha’, Venkat Prabhu’s next project was a matter of huge speculation. Ultimately, it was Karthi who landed the role in ‘Biriyani’, a Venkat Prabhu diet that is all ready to be served this week. However, the fact is that Karthi wasn’t the first choice for this project.

Venkat Prabhu initially narrated the script to Vijay who was impressed with it but couldn’t allot dates to it due to ‘Thuppakki’ and other commitments. Next in line was Suriya who also got impressed by the thread but missed out on the project. In the end, Karthi, who has been going through a very bad patch at the Box Office, got on board and as per industry talk, this is bound to be a much needed break for him.

Biriyani will be served this Christmas season from December 20 onwards!
