Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha is considered as one of the best period drama flicks in the history of Indian Cinema. It not only got huge critical acclaim but also managed to become a box-office success fetching Mammootty a National Award for Best Actor. This Vishu Season becomes all the more special as it was 25 years ago in 1989 during Vishu that the film released in theatres.

Thus Vishu 2014 marks 25 glorious years of Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha as well as the memorable character Chandhu that was portrayed by Mammootty. Certain films tend to become more and more memorable as the years go by and undoubtedly this film belongs to that category. Kudos to director Hariharan, ace script writer MT Vasudevan Nair and the entire crew for taking the efforts to make such a gem that too way back in 1989 during the times of technical limitations.
