Be it the family entertainers, dark thrillers, new generation gimmicks or any other type of flick, films are in abundance and clicking as well. However, an untold story is regarding the many films that in the cans due to lack of takers.

One can’t solely blame distribution agencies for not taking up these films as a person would make a deal only to make profit and the films that are in the cans can’t be called ventures that can give profit. In a year, around 75-80 films are given satellite rights. As a result, quite a lot of films are being made with makers eying only the satellite rights. Almost all the films in the cans are such films that are made just for the sake of it. The Television Production, Film Producers Association, AMMA and FEFKA had a closed-door meeting regarding the same. A decision has been taken not to curb films that are planned with satellite motive in mind. This is indeed a positive step as we don’t need films that are trash to be released in theaters or on TV channels.
