Reason Behind The Cancellation Of Anjaan’s Audio Function

Suriya starrer ‘Anjaan’ had its success meet on ‘1 million YouTube views’ for its Teaser. A first of its kind indeed. Thus the fans were expecting a grand audio release function for the movie which was planned for this month. But in a recent update from the crew, it was announced that there won’t be any formal audio release function for this big budget flick. Many didn’t know the reason for the same which raised many speculations. But now it is somewhat clear that it was called off because of the uncertainties of the venue and there is an indirect link with the state Government for the same.
It was said that the function would be held in Chennai Trade Centre or Nehru stadium on July 22nd. The makers even announced about the venue and date and moreover Kamal Haasan was expected to grace the event as the chief guest. But when the team was supposed to grant permission from the Government, they were surprisingly denied by the authorities for some unspecified reasons. Many opts that it may be the recent speech from Kamal Haasan in an audio release function which has irked the Government lead by chief minister Jayalalitha where Ulaga Nayakan was seen quoting the Government’s ignorance or less importance towards the film industry. The current Government is being criticised for the tax levied on the films, which is about a huge 30% eating the profit for the distributors, exhibitors and the producers. Kamal Haasan and the Government had a similar kind of face offs last year when Kamal’s magnum opus ‘Vishwaroopam’ had to face many hurdles for unspecific reasons. Even Ilayathapathi Vijay’s Thalaivaa went through a similar task, much to the worse of the makers. Anyways ‘Anjaan’ will not have a formal audio release function and the CD’s will be directly available from music stores from 23rd of this month.
