Rajadhi Raja In The Lines Of Lagaan
Megastar Mammootty’s Rajadhi Raja team is following some unique ways in its filming. The team which chose Pollachi as the prime location went for an artificial township with the help of their Art Direction team. As per reports they have bought a plot for lease and have built a township including a petrol bunk which plays the crucial part in the Film. Mammootty’s character Shekharan Kutti will be playing the manager of this petrol pump which is a way of his income. The Plot which is about five acres was bought for a lump sum amount and the set was created for around fifty lakhs. The makers who don’t want to compromise on the originality of the location has said to make this set with maximum authenticity. These kind of acts are quite common in filming processes but majorly in other language movies. A similar kind of step was taken by the Aamir Khan’s ‘Lagaan’ team where they took a Plot in Kanuria village, Bhuj in Gujarat. The Rajadhi Raja team also have gone this way as they couldn’t get all their requirements in one location in the premise. In short, as said before an artificial township has been built for the film which has cost them a few lakh. A song was also filmed in the premise of this location recently which featured a number of junior artists and dancers. The major percentage of the film will be filmed here before it moves to other locations like Hyderabad, Mumbai etc.
Rajadhi Raja stars Mammootty and Raai Laxmi in the lead, accompanied by artists like Jojo, Joy Mathew, Vijayaraghavan, Mukesh Khanna etc. The film, which is being directed by newbie Ajay Vasudev is written by Udayakrishna and Sibi.
