Prithviraj’s Different Approach To Cinema!
Till October 2012, Prithviraj’s films were having hype but the response from audiences were usually mixed. His script selections were always being flawed now and then. Many felt that he was wasting his talent with wrong scripts. All that changed from October 2012 onwards.
Ayaalum Njaanum Thammil released on October 11, 2012 to overwhelmingly positive reviews with his performance being raved about. A new Prithvi was born and it was not a one-off film either. Celluloid, Mumbai Police and Memories confirmed that the actor had made a change for the better. The most recent flick 7th Day is proof of that though London Bridge failed at the box office. The actor even went on to win the State Award for the Best Actor of 2012-13.
Prithviraj feels that the taste of the audiences have changed in recent years which has allowed actors like him to experiment with roles and scripts. A parallel cinema like Celluloid managed commercial success too and that is one thing Prithvi is really proud of. The support of the audience is really important and Prithviraj feels that it has helped him in his decisions.
He also feels that an open mind is needed for audiences when they watch a flick of any genre. Prithvi added that the same can be said for stars while listening to a script. He said that he can’t evaluate a script like Memories in the same way as a script like London Bridge as both were of different genres.
Prithvi feels that the attempt at variety is the most important thing than the end result. Not always can the script that impressed an actor turn out to be well executed. But as long as the effort is there, nothing else matters, says Prithvi. The actor’s path of resurrection has been based on this theory. The audiences these days trust a Prithvi film due to script selection that has improved in the last 2 years. Let’s hope Prithvi continues this for his upcoming projects and that other young stars to take a leaf out of Prithvi’s books.
