Praise The Lord – Music Review
Overview
Cine Shore Rating:
Our Picks : Sharon Vaniyil and Innaleyolam
Singers : Yazin, Rinu Razak
Unarguably the best from the album. Yes the first track itself is a treat for the ears. The track which starts with an Arabic/Persian mood quickly makes way to the easy and slow-western mood. The song is intriguing from the word go and gets best when the male vocals join. It gets even better in more melodious ‘anupallavi’s Sung very effectively by Rinu Razak and Yazin this one is definitely a chartbuster on cards. Yazin’s voice at times looks like Vineet Sreenivasan’s when he is at high pitches.
Singers : Swetha, Vijay Yesudas
Your typical family number. But as it is from Shaan Rahman there is a good feel throughout. The rack has nicely used flute very effectively, be it the starting bit or which comes in between. Percussions like tabla also carries the tempo throughout. What if a feel good song is vocalled by Vijay Yesudas and Swetha, a sweet result isn’t it..? That reflects in this track. Should grow with you with the visuals. Overall a good track.
Singers : Shaan Rahman, Shan Johnson, Kavya Ajith
Here comes the club song from the film. A youthful hip-hop kind of number. The beats are on the lines of some Bollywood hits like ‘Soni de Nakhre’ from Partner and its consistently carried throughout the song. where the song strikes is the vocals used. When Shaans husky voice starts it nicely it is carried further by a powerful rendering from the female leads Shan Johnson and Kavya. Still the tune falls just short of Shaans caliber when we expects something big from him. Nevertheless a decent track
Singer : Shaan Rahman
A Christian prayer song composed in a variety way from usual Malayalam numbers with a trance like genre, full on with English lyrics Shaan Rahmans versatility in pronouncing different languages firms with this number. Similar kind of an impression was there when he vocalled some of his recent Kannada album ‘Nam Duniya Nam Style’, way to go dude. The tune is soothing and goes on consistently with the mood.
Lot was expected from Shaan from ‘Praise The Lord’ and he lives up to it. A movie like Praise the Lord has limited scope for music and thus expecting a huge album is a big mistake. Eventually, what we expects or what the genre deserves is neatly provided by Shaan. Rest lies on the visuals and the situations.
