Peruchazhi – Music Review
Overview
Cine Shore Rating:
Our Picks : United States of Adipolica, Don’t Mess With Me..
Composer: Arrora
Singers: Karthik, Arrora
Lyrics: Rajeev Nair
Starts with an interesting trumpet score and are accompanied by an energetic chorus rap and beat. Thus becomes racy from there and is full of energy throughout. Karthik’s vocals are superb and he is spontaneous with the ups and downs of the tempo. The folk like chorus before the second ‘anupallavi’ is nice. Rajeev Nair’s lyrics are good and lines like ‘ethire ninnaal basmam aakum’ should go well with the fans of Mohanlal. A decent track.
Composer: Arrora
Singers: Bombay Jayashri
Lyrics: R. Venugopal
The only melody from the album. Bombay Jayashri’s vocals resemble some of Harris Jayaraj’s compositions. But her voice has lifted the composition (especially the last portions of the song) which is otherwise pretty ordinary. The lyrics are okay but could have better.
Composer: Arrora
Singers: Blaaze
Lyrics: Blaaze
A short and crispy theme. The beats and rap portions goes on the lines of some western tracks and Blaaze is once again in full form with his powerful vocals. The female chorus work is also beautiful especially during the humming interludes. The lyrics is a treat for the fans as it projects their superstar in a wacky manner like the usage of ‘Lalettan’ in the last part. Arrora also infuses some rocking electronic guitar scores midway which also adds to the energy of the track. Overall this should be the best from the album.
Composer: Arrora
Singers: Jyotsna
Lyrics: Rajeev Nair
Now comes the most expected track from the album because of the ‘PO mone dinesha’ title and the ‘Kuthu’ genre. A lot was expected from the album which is quite underwhelming because of the poor lyrics and rehashed kind of tune. There are two versions of the song one vocaled by Jyotsna and other by Andreah. Andreah’s version is better because of the freshness in her vocals. Still it doesn’t become a poor track and is partly okay. Seems like the makers were once again trying to play to the galleries which makes things forced.
Composer: Arrora
Singers: Blaaze
Lyrics: Blaaze
Once again its Blaaze’s turn to put up the much needed energy. There is an interesting percussion interlude in between in the form of drums in between the racy western type composition. Though it doesn’t match up with the ‘Adipolica’ track, this one also ends on a positive note. Once again it is the rap and the whacky lyrics which help the track look interesting and thanks to the ever dependable Blaaze in the same.
Peruchazhi is approaching fast with a humongous hype and hoopla. The same was there for the album too, because of the fresh composer Arrora and the grandness of the film. But as the most expected song ‘PO Mone Dinesha’ ends in a quite disappointing way the overall excitement comes down. Other tracks (sans two themes from Blaaze) also fall short of the expectations just because of the huge hype surrounding it. But otherwise it is an okay album and which has succeeded in bringing the existing festive mood for the film. But that’s not enough for a once in a while mighty films like this Isn’t it…?
Final Word : Falls short of expectations.
