Mukesh Khanna In Rajadhiraja

Mukesh Khanna, who is known more for his portrayal of India’s most popular Superhero of one time ‘Shaktiman’ may be disappeared from the television world. But, be ready to see him in one of the most awaited season of the movie, that too a Megastar Mammootty starrer. Yes, the actor will be seen in Mammootty’s ‘Rajadhi Raja‘ which is on sets now. Even though his role is unknown we hear it is a powerful character and will have an important part to do in the script. Anyways it will be interesting to see how his character will be related to Mammootty in this mass action flick.

Born in Mumbai, Mukesh Khanna entered films in 1982 but rose to fame for his portrayal of ‘Bhishma’ in B.R .Chopra’s T.V Series ‘Mahabharat’. But it was the fictional Superhero series ‘Shaktiman’ which made him a national star especially among the children. The series produced by himself became a rage among the kid’s soon upon its airing from 1997. Telecasted on Doordarshan, it completed around 400 episodes and still remains as one the biggest hits among all the T.V Shows in the country. Apart from T.V series, Mukesh Khanna has appeared in many Hindi films like ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Raja, LOC Kargil etc., most of them being a cop or a military role. The actor will be seen in J.P Dutta’s ‘Border 2′, a sequel to the yesteryear blockbuster Border. As for Rajadhi Raja, Mukesh was a surprise call into the cast as he has rarely seen in South movies. A couple of days back Unni Mukundan was also called for a cameo appearance in a song for the movie.

Rajadhi Raja stars Rai Lakshmi, Jojo, Joy Mathew etc. and is being directed by newbie ‘Ajay Vaudev’ who has been an associate director to many prominent directors like Vysakh, Johny Antony etc. Written by Udayakrishna and Sibi. K. Thomas, ‘Rajadhi Raja’ is produced by M.K Nazzer for Good Line Productions. To be shot in locations like Pollachi, Hyderabad and Mumbai highways it is planned as an Onam release which will also fall in with Mammootty’s birthday in early September.

Rajadhiraja will be competing with another mass entertainer in Peruchazhi that features the other heavyweight of Malayalam Cinema Mohanlal. Yet another fight of the Big Ms at the box office and this time the stakes will be higher as both are appearing in the same season with mass entertainers. This Onam season promises to be a rocking one indeed as the two Superstars go neck-to-neck.
