Manichitrathaazhu Sequel Doesn’t Have A Nagavalli

The news of a sequel to the 1993 blockbuster ‘Manichitrathaazhu’ has been keenly awaited by the film industry and audiences alike. This news has been huge for the fans of actor Mohanlal as the character Dr.Sunny had been one of his best roles till date. The film which was directed by Fazil was one of the biggest hits of 1993. The anxiety among the people is whether Priyadarshan , who is directing the sequel, would able to do full justice to the first part. The film has been tentatively titled ‘Manichitrathaazhu-2’ till a proper title comes up. Shobana and Suresh Gopi who played pivotal roles in the first part won’t be a part of this project.

Priyadarshan had stated long back that the character of Nagavalli won’t be present in the sequel. The lead actress would be a newcomer according to sources. Priyadarshan has a task on his hands to make a sequel that is a befitting one to one of the best psycho-thrillers in Malayalam.
