Mammootty – Ranjith Film To Begin From November
Megastar Mammootty and ace director Ranjith is a combo to watch out for. From ‘Kayyoppu’ to Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha’ to ‘Pranchiyettan and the saint’ they have given some memorable films for cinema lovers. They were last seen together for ‘Kadal Kadannoru Mathukutty’ which went on to become a forgettable one for both the actor and director. In between the both were said to unite for another film ‘Leela’ which was later done by Biju Menon for Ranjith himself. In between Ranjith bankrolled Mammootty’s Unni.R directed film ‘Munnariyippu’ which also went on to become a classic. Now both are all set to join for another project and it was announced couple of months before. Ranjith who wanted to direct Mammootty again approached him with a suitable subject for which Mammootty okayed.
Tentatively titled as ‘Vamban’, this film is said to be a commercial film and Mammootty’s role is said to have shaped up with a good dose of heroism too. The film which is said to have a Kozhikode backdrop will begin its shoot from November as per reports. Though an official announcement is yet to come for the movie with the rest of the cast and crew it is said that Ranjith is retaining his usual technicians to back the project. Meanwhile Mammootty is busy finishing his Christmas film ‘The Great Father’ directed by newcomer Haneef Adheni for Prithviraj’s August Films for which the shoot is happening in Trissur. Ranjith who couldn’t meet the expectations last two times with his ‘Loham’ and ‘Leela’ has said to have lot of homework for this project and is right now completing the pre-production works of this Mammootty starrer which is eyeing a republic day release for January 26, 2018. Remember it was the release date for ‘Narasimham’, back in 2000 which was also written by Ranjith and seems like he wants to pick that lucky date of his once again.
