Koothara From June 7!

After the much acclaimed box office success Second Show, Sreenath Rajendran is ready with his next venture, a dark comedy with a setting of fiction. Tamil Actor Bharath makes a comeback to Malayalam films after a decade while Sunny Wayne and Tovino play the other 2 main leads. The icing on the cake for Koothara is obviously the presence of Superstar Mohanlal who is doing an extensive cameo in the flick. His role is said to be crucial to the plot of the flick and as the promos suggest, we might be in for a unusually entertaining ride. Bharath was last seen in 2004 in the flick For the People which was a smash-hit. Since then, he became busy with Tamil flicks and hasn’t done a Malayalam film until Koothara happened.

The official teaser and posters of Koothara has generated great buzz among the youth in social networking sites. Srinath Rajendran’s previous flick was also the debut of Dulquer Salmaan in Mollywood and most people have huge expectations from the flick. Also the banners of Marikar Films and UTV Motion pictures entering the arena makes Koothara a big product indeed. Marikar films have produced some big hits like Big B, Annan Thambi and their recent production was Thank You. UTV Motion Pictures will handle the distribution of the flick. Gopi Sundar’s music is expected to make waves and overall, it’s looking bright for Koothara. Mohanlal’s presence in the flick guarantees a solid start at the box office for the film though he isn’t in the lead role. His fans have enjoyed his getup and slang in the short teaser and are eagerly waiting for the film. Let’s hope we get a different yet entertaining flick! The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 7.
