Huge demand for Drishyam remake rights

Mohanal’s Christmas release ‘Dhrishyam’ has taken the box office by storm. The family thriller directed by Jeethu Joseph has been appreciated for its novel concept and terrific execution. The film’s resounding success has made it a huge name in the remake markets.

According to reports, Mohanlal’s brother-in-law Suresh Balaji who is a famed line producer for big banners, has brought the remake rights for Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The rights for the Kannada version have gone to Mukesh Mehta, a leading distributor cum producer.

It is being known that Jeethu shall be wielding the megaphone for the Tamil and Hindi versions. The Hindi version is likely to be produced by Reliance with Suresh as the line producer.
