Gone are the days when Malayalam Industry means only the Big Ms Mammootty and Mohanlal. While the two veteran superstars are still very much the big stars, producers and audiences have shown their affection for other stars too. While the other stars of the 90s like Suresh Gopi and Jayaram are past their prime, the new generation brigade is apparently charging a hefty fee from the producers. However, they are worth it according to the statements of the producers who recover amounts from satellite rights and other rights.

Prithviraj, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil and Nivin Pauly form the crux of the youth brigade. Prithviraj is obviously the senior most among them and is at top in terms of salary with a whopping Rs.1 crore as his salary. The actor’s stunning makeover in terms of script selection has made him a brand of sorts among the audiences. Dulquer Salmaan and Fahadh Faasil are in 2nd spot with Rs,70 lakhs each. Both of them are 2 of the hottest young stars in the industry with a good fan base. Nivin Pauly started sedately but has made huge progress in 2014 with a hat trick of hits which is seen on his salary too which is now Rs.50 lakhs. Well, it does seem like our young stars are getting costly but at the same time they are bringing in business too which means all is well for the industry
