Lal Jr a.k.a Jean Paul Lal and Asif Ali team came together with a Smashing Hit in the form of Honey Bee last year. The film which didn’t have great faces ultimately became a big winner upon the release and even managed to go on par with some of the mightiest Hits last year. As for Jean Paul Lal it was a dream debut as he got appreciations from all sides for the trendy work. The same team joined hands a couple of months before for the project titled ‘Hi I’m Tony’ and became an instant go through into the watch-list of youngsters. As they wait for the movie moves on the director himself has announced that the movie will be an Eid release for July 26 along with a bunch of other movies including Mammootty starrer ‘Manglish‘.
Contradicting to his debut flick Lal Jr is reportedly coming with a more serious and intense subject this time and the movie promises some riveting performances from the leads. The title and the posters have already created a stir among the youngsters adding to the hype and one expects a bar above Honey Bee for Tony. Although Honey Bee became a runaway hit a section of the audience wrote off the movie labeling as another ‘new gen’ flick and seems like Lal Jr is ready to come over the same with a more lively subject this time. The film stars Lal, Bijumenon, Lena, Mia George, Balu it apart from Asif Ali. Jean has retained almost the same technical team this time around also with Alby is moving the camera and Deepak Dev with the tunes. Hi I’m Tony is produced by Siby Thottumpuram, Joby Mundamattom and Dr. Panda in association with Ideas Inc. Lets wait and see whether Jean and his team can recreate the magic of ‘Honey Bee’.
