Gauthami To Join Drishyam?

Gauthami, is never an unknown face to Malayali audience. Although, she was mostly seen in Tamil films, she has done some of her best roles in Malayalam. Be it in His Highness Abdulla opposite Mohanlal or in Dhruvam opposite Mammootty, Gauthami could claim about the crackling chemistry she shared with the Superstars of M-Town. She even got a character of her lifetime penned by well known ‘M.T Vasudevan Nair’ in Sukrutham. The actress who was last seen in a Tamil movie long back in 2006 (Sasanam) may make a comeback into the big screen, says the sources. If everything falls into place she will be seen the Tamil remake of ‘Drishyam‘ opposite ‘Kamal Hassan‘, her real life partner.

Although the shooting is yet to happen the Tamil remake of ‘Drishyam’ had been in news’s for many reasons. Be it the special remuneration for Kamal, or the association of big banner, it was headlined for many. Now its heard that the team wants to rope in Gauthami as the female lead to reprise the role of Meena in the original. Jeethu and Kamal earlier wanted Meena it to do the character but it’s heard that she didn’t want to portrait the role once again after doing twice in Malayalam and Telugu. Gauthami, to whom the role is offered, is still to give the nod as she is returning to movies after a hiatus. Jeethu Joseph, he is directing the Tamil version which will be produced by Suresh Balaji. Meanwhile the Kannada version of the movie ‘Drishya’ is releasing tomorrow and the Telugu version ‘Drushyam’ is awaiting a release in a couple of weeks which stars Ravichandran and Venkatesh respectively.
