‘Endrendrum Punnagai’ won the X’mas run

All the dust has settled over the Christmas releases, and it is Jiiva’s romantic comedy ‘Endrendrum Punnagai’ that continues to be super-strong at the box office with strong word-of-mouth taking to greater heights after a slow start. The film directed by Ahmed features Trisha, Vinay, Santhanam and Nasser also in the cast with music by Harris Jayaraj. The film is a hit and is moving towards a super-hit.

The other major Christmas release was the comedy mass entertainer ‘Biriyani’ directed by Venkat Prabhu that had Karthi in the lead. The film took a good start due to the hype around it and the coming together of the Karthi-Venkat Prabhu combo. However, after a good start, the film has dropped due to the mixed response and will end up as an above-average earner at the box office. While this is a relief for Karthi after string of big flops, his quest for a clean hit continues. The film also has Premji and Hansika in the cast with music by Yuvan Shanker Raja.
