Director Rafi Talks About His Best Eid
Rafi the director doesn’t need an introduction to the Malayali audience as he has proved himself a multiple times. Even after years, many of his movies are still remembered and has also got a ‘cult’ status. He, with his friend and teammate Mecartin was once the minimum guarantee writers in commercial Malayalam Cinema. Mostly as writers, they have also produced some film’s where also they proved. More recently there is a Punjabi House, a Thenkasipattanam or a Hallo. They were not only super hits, but also got remade into many other languages. Lately, they are not a team anymore and is now working as independent directors. Post that Rafi came with Ringmaster which also became a Superhit and the Vishu winner by miles.
During a recent interview to a leading magazine, Rafi has opened about his Eid memories down the years. Ask him about his favourite Eid post the childhood period, he will answer the Eid during which their Rajasenan directed ‘Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava‘ was released. He has genuine reasons for that. It was a period which decided their existence in the industry. As two previous films written by them became flops Rafi and Mecartin was in a situation to decide upon Film or a different career. Thus ‘Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava‘ was written during then and was about to release. They also knew that the film will jot get a long run as Ramzan was fast approaching. That was when the film was released to a thunderous response. The film was a huge hit and even Ramzan fasting couldn’t stop it from becoming a Mega hit. It was a fresh breath for both of them and thus that Eid became the best for them.
