Dileep’s monopoly a cause of concern

Dileep can do no wrong at the box office these days with his films doing roaring business irrespective of the word-of-mouth the film carries as long as it is a clean entertainer. The family support he enjoys is incredible, and he already has 2 big solo hits this year apart from a multi-starrer hit.

While all this is good indeed both for Dileep and for the industry, another side of the story is a bit dejecting. Dileep is said to be pushing theatre owners into running his film for longer durations on a contract basis even if the film has stopped doing decent business. This has led to many films being unable to get releases. Apparently, the actor manages to do with the promise of giving his next film to the theatre owners which is certainly a tempting offer considering his current BO stamina. Having said that, misusing that in this manner is a bit uncomfortable and as a result many big/small films not getting the deserved number of screens.

Let’s hope that the monopoly ends at the earliest for the good of the industry. Equality has to be maintained and no actor is above the industry.
