Dhanush outshines Kamal!

The Filmfare awards are extremely prestigious to an actor as they are considered the 2nd most reputed awards after the National Awards. The sweetness increases when a person from the South scores one, that too on his Bollywood debut! That is exactly what Dhanush has done.

His romantic drama ‘Raanjhanaa’ was not only well received at the box office but also loved by the critics. His performance was singled out by one and all. It is of little surprise then that he ended up winning the Best Debut (Male) award thereby going one step ahead of the legendary Kamal Haasan.

Kamal had won a nomination for his debut performance in ‘Ek Duje Ke Liye’ but coundn’t claim the award. He later won the Best Actor award for ‘Saagar’. Dhanush’s win on debut is indeed a proud moment for the South Industry and one feels this might push more actors from the region to give it a shot in Bollywood.
