Bangalore Days Sets One More Record.
Bangalore Days, upon its release is breaking records left, right, top and bottom. Though it missed the opening day record by few lakh because of limited screens compared to other biggies, it had set new benchmarks in collection from the first weekend. The gross is more or less above 15 crore as of now (Kerala Only) and is still strong in most of the centres.Though an Industry Hit or a record breaker is out of reach going by the trend, Bangalore Days will easily come among the biggest Hits, ever in the history of Malayalam Cinema.
Coming to some specific records, the film is now the fastest one to cross 1 crore mark in one of the important centre, Calicut where it crossed the magical figure on its 16th day (Saturday). From Apsara it has grossed more than 55 lakh and from Film City another 40 lakh plus summing up a figure above 1 crore. When we consider the occupancy in Apsara ‘Bangalore Days’ is just behind ‘Thattathin Marayathu’ but then, there wasn’t a film city which nowadays hosts a huge chunk of the audience. The situation is similar in most of the centres and it may grab few more records before it faces the month of Ramzan which starts from 27th. The same is happening in territories outside Kerala as it got the widest release possible and maximum number of shows for any Malayalam film. Thanks to the idea of the makers to include the subtitles resulting in additional audience from these territories. The union of most happening youngsters of the time, the trust in talented Anjali Menon plus the Anwar Rasheed’s tag heightened the brand value of the movie everywhere. Bangalore Days also taught the industry that, a product when delivered in good manner gets maximum acceptance if things like subtitles are added. The movie stars Dulquer Slamaan, Nivin Pauly, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya Nazim, Isha Talwar, Parvathy, Nithya Menon etc.
