Avatharam – Music Review
Overview
Cine Shore Rating:
Satisfying, not exciting.
01: Konchi Konchi Chirichal
Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Rimi Tomy Lyric: Kaithapram
The first track has everything which a Deepak Dev number holds. Progressive percussions, breezy string works and few chorus works. But the use of repetitive vocals from Singers like Shankar Mahadevan brings a feel of déjà vu and hence limit the freshness. Wrote well by Kaithapram the song describes the heroine from the hero’s perspective and vice –versa. Overall a decent track altogether which could have been better with some fresh vocals.
02 : Njaan Kaanum Neram
Singer: Nivas Lyric: Harinarayanan
A fast paced track which takes off with a whistle bit. The beats are fine and the rhythm is almost maintained throughout the track. Here there is something positive the earlier track was missing, a fresh voice. The husky vocals from Nivas would be the best part of this track which is otherwise an okay compose. But lyrics at times looks forced to fit the composition resulting in an amateurish feel. The early vocal part of both the stanza’s are melodious.
ANALYSIS
Avatharam is an out and out Mass entertainer from Joshiy- Dileep- and Deepak Dev team and one expects just a commercially satisfying album from the team if not more. Deepak does a satisfying job, but misses the content to become a blockbuster album like the earlier films of the trio like a Lion or Christian Brothers. Sans the repetitive singer selection for the first track, Deepak doesn’t disappoint though.
