After Unnikrishnan, Sibi Malayil To Face A Ban.
It has been only a few days after the FEFKA vs Exhibitors Union’s tussle which shock the Malayalam Industry at least for a couple of weeks. It all started with a ban from the Exhibitors federation to the B. Unnikrishnan directed Mohanlal starrer ‘Mr. Fraud’ alleging that the director and his federation stayed away during an official function of the former. Although strict measures awaited the movie upon its release, things got better prior to its release giving a smooth release for the movie. Anyways it all got faded and now its time for another issue and the hosts are almost the same. The change is only on the receiving end. If it was Unnikrishnan earlier, its Sibi Malayil’s turn right now. Yes, it is heard that Exhibitors Federation has put a ban on veteran Director, Sibi Malayil. As per the sources, the director has made some disheartening comments about the federation to a leading television channel.
Of late, two of the major federations of Malayalam cinema, FEFKA and Exhibitors union are in cold wars and Sibi Malayil belongs to the former. Thus, in a scenario where everything is watched skeptically things like this gets magnified and the result can’t get better than this. Sibi Malayil who has made some of the classics and super hits didn’t do any movies after ‘Unnam’ which was a box office dud. Now all eyes are on the issue, to know whether it stops here or go further serious.
