One of the most feel-good films of 2014, Ohm Shanthi Oshaana has ended its theatrical run. Needless to say, the film is one of the major successes of 2014 considering its return-on-investment and profits made. The film took a good opening due to theNivin-Nazriya pairing that had made Neram a hit last year. The hit music also played its part while Nivin’s previous release 1983 that hit screens just a week before this film was doing well too which meant that Ohm Shanthi Oshaana took a good headstart at the box office. Any film depends on content as openings can be gained through various methods. OSO had the content factor too with a refreshing treatment that had humor all over it with the proper dose of romance that touches your heart.

OSO goes on to show that rom-coms still work big time in Kerala provided they are made and marketed properly. The film ended up with 10.15 crores which is an excellent result indeed that makes it a clean super-hit at the box office. The film also managed a long run despite the barrage of opposition it had to face on its way during the run. Despite being promoted as Nivin-Nazriya film, it was Nazriya who held the film together as Nivin’s role is more of an extended cameo. Having said that, Nivin packed a solid punch in his performance and played to the gallery with his mass appeal. The film revolved around Nazriya though and the petite actress was able to shoulder the responsibility with a likeable performance. It is a great start for Director Jude who has shown a lot of promise in this flick.
