As we had reported earlier, actress Manju Warrier’s return after a long gap of 14 years was with a bang through the family drama How Old Are You that released 3 weeks back. The film scripted by Bobby-Sanjay and directed by Rosshan Andrews opened to hugely positive reviews with family audiences thronging the theaters to watch one of their favorite stars back in action. It was indeed the pull of a Lady Superstar as the film pumped in 2.88 crores in its first 4 days despite having a face-off with the Mohanlal starrer Mr.Fraud at the box office. This superb opening swelled as the days went by with the film going rock steady reaching 6.61 crores in 10 days. As per the latest reports, the film has collected 9.60 crores in 20 days which is incredible for a woman-oriented flick. Manju is back with a bang indeed!

The film does have Kunchacko Boban in a vital role but the film truly belonged to Manju both on-screen as well as in its hype and promos. The film’s creative team deserve a pat on their back too but for the box office impact, it has to undoubtedly Manju’s show all the way. The Bangalore Days tsunami has hit theaters last week but How Old Are You still manages to do good steady business despite diminishing screen counts. The film is already a smash-hit and is proof of Manju Warrier’s evergreen popularity. The actress is surely back with a vigour! The film is a clean super-hit from theatricals alone and has chances to even become a blockbuster if it manages to stick on for a few more weeks. That isn’t impossible either considering the Ramzan period coming which would mean dry season as far as new releases are concerned with only Munnariyppu and Koothara being the major releases announced at the moment. Time to smile either way for Manju and Rosshan!
