Bangalore Days 42 Days Collection
Bangalore Days Keeps Up Its Momentum!
Anjali Menon’s mega casting coup of 2014, Bangalore Days continues to dominate at the box office despite the lull of the Ramadan period. The youthful entertainer that took a massive opening everywhere collected an incredible 10 crores in its first week. The film had a huge buzz around it due to the quality of the banner and director along with the obvious galaxy of young stars sharing screen space together for the first time. The youth thronged to the theaters and enjoyed every bit of the flick while the surprise factor was the family audiences who were equally responsible for making this flick a mega blockbuster at the box office. As per the latest reports, the film has collected a whopping 22.65 crores at the box office from its 6 weeks run in Kerala. The collection from Rest of India as well as overseas has been humungous with several records created, but the total figure from outside Kerala is yet to be received collectively.
The film had blockbuster written all over it right from the promos and with a writer-director like Anjali Menon, you know the quality is surely going to be there. The crisp screenplay was the winner with elements of comedy, romance and sentiments mixed in the right proportions. It was backed by some really fine performances from the cast too. The Ramadan period meant lack of new releases which gave the film a free run without any opposition though the film’s quality would have taken it through in any case. Nevertheless, the lack of opposition did help and the film continues to march on towards a glorious 50 days at the box office. The remake rights of the film have become huge in the market and apparently PVP has brought the Hindi and Telugu rights of the flick.
Verdict : Mega Blockbuster
