Bangalore Days 14 Days Collection

Bangalore Days 14 Days CollectionBangalore Days is now Blockbuster Days!

The star-studded youth entertainer Bangalore Days has set the box office on fire and is turning to be one of the biggest hits of all time. The film that was released in 98 screens in Kerala and a massive 105 screens in Rest of India raked up 1.89 crore on its first day with 1.58 crore from India and 0.31 crore from ROI. The film went on to have an earth-shattering first week of 8.45 crore breaking all existing records of first weekend and first week by some distance. The film continued to chug along without noticeable drops in its 2nd weekend and has produced an extra-ordinary 2nd week as well with the 14 days total now summing up to an incredible 13.36 crores. What this means is that Bangalore Days in its 2nd’ week has performed better than what most films perform even in their first week! Historical indeed!

The youth brigade is indeed firing on all cylinders and the reasons for the film’s overwhelming success aren’t hard to find. Mollywood had been starved of some quality urban youth entertainers, the kind of which are very common in Bollywood. The union of 3 of the hottest young stars in the market – Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly and Fahadh Faasil ensured that the project was in the news from day-1 of its announcement. Nivin also had a dream start to 2014 with hits like 1983 and Ohm Shanthi Oshaana while Fahadh had scored a super-hit with Oru Indian Pranaya Kadha which was the only film to withstand the Drishyam storm at the box office. Dulquer Salmaan did have a poor run at the Malayalam Box Office but his Tamil debut was a success springing him back to form. Nazriya’s overwhelming popularity added sting to the starcast with the ever dependable Anjaly Menon’s writing+direction and Anwar Rasheed’s involvement guaranteeing us a quality product. The film has lived up to its massive hype and perhaps even exceeded it. With Ramzan about to start, hardly any releases are coming which is a boost for the film that is already doing rollicking business. However, that shall also mean that the Malabar side might be affected and with the FIFA World Cup in progress, Bangalore Days could face a challenge of sorts. Let’s stay positive and hope this youth entertainer carries on with more vigour!
