Suresh Gopi – Biography

Suresh Gopinathan (Suresh Gopi) was born on June 26, 1959 in Kollam. He has acted in about 190 films, most of which have been in Malayalam. Suresh did a film as a child artist in 1965, but his career as an actor kicked off in 1986. In the initial years of his career, the roles he did were mostly either supporting roles or character roles. Most of the films had him paired with the Superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty though he had more films with the former. It was in 1992 through ‘Thalasthaanam’ that he got his first solo success and this made him a bankable star. Since then, he has had many huge hits mostly in the action genre with him being termed the ‘angry young man’ of the industry. ‘Thalasthaanam’, ‘Ekalavyan’ , ‘Mafia’ and ‘Commissioner’ are some of his biggest hits with his character Bharatchandran IPS in ‘Commission’ making him a household name.

Suresh Gopi is married to Radhika and the couple had 5 children, the first of which passed away long back.
